OPENING EVENT TRANSUMANZA PARMA 22 JULY 19.00
PARMA CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2021 Inauguration of "Transumanza", the first installation of the call of Parma 2020+1 Temporary Signs, by the collective Domani Fiume* in collaboration with Molteni Vernici, on July 22 at 19.00 in the riverbed of the river Parma, at the access to the Ponte Verdi (Ducal Park).
Transumanza is a winning project of Temporary Signs, the second open call of Parma Italian Capital of Culture 2020+21, promoted by the City of Parma in partnership with the association GAI - Young Italian Artists, and with the collaboration of BJCEM - Association Internationale pour la Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs d'Europe et de la Méditerranée.
Temporary Signs is an environmental rewriting project made for artists under 35 and their sculptural projects, installations and temporary architecture to reinterpret the places and spaces of the city of Parma.
*Collettivo Domani, fiume: Beatrice Ciacchella and Andrea Lusignani, architect and engineer, share a path between architecture, graphics and land-art, working for private clients and collaborating on public initiatives aimed at river enhancement.
“Transumanza” summarizes in a practical way their point of view on the theme of cultural enhancement and landscape.
The installation was born with the intention of giving persistence to a phenomenon as ancient as fleeting, which regularly takes place in the heart of the city of Parma: that of transhumance.
5 golden sheep made with the collection NATURAL LUXURY GOLD by MOLTENI VERNICI in the river bed will remember the richness of this activity, proclaimed Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, also providing a pretext to look at the city from a different perspective.
